Manuscript Guidelines

 Manuscript Submission Guidelines

E-Book

1. We prefer your manuscript be formatted in MSWord [doc. or docx], Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, double spaced, one-inch margins all around.

2. Check your “GPS” [grammar, punctuation and spelling].  Although we will proofread your work, you have indicated in your submission that the work has been edited by an independent editor. If your manuscript has not been independently edited, please do not submit.

3. Do not use tabs or the space bar to format paragraphs or individual lines. Instead, use the MSWord format paragraph menu or the MSWord alignment buttons in the toolbar.

4. Don’t press the “ENTER” key more than four (4) consecutive times.  If you do it will create blank e-book pages.

5. Avoid using very large or very small font sizes. Use 12pt Times New Roman for body text and 14-18pt Times News Roman for chapter titles.

6. Tables, inserts, and sidebars will not display properly in the mobi/Kindle-ePub formats. Extract this content and list it as ordinary text.

7. Do not wrap your text around images. All images (except full-page images) should be set “in-line” with your body text.

8. Do not include any elements that refer to page numbers other than your formatted Table of Contents. Because e-readers use a “floating” text instead of a “fixed” text you find in printed books, the pages numbers will vary depending on your viewing choices. All headers, footers, footnotes, and indexes should be deleted.

9. All images must be in .png, .jpg, or .tif format, minimum 72 dpi, and in RGB color mode for e-book covers.

  • Cover image should be at least 1536 pixels wide, portrait or vertical rectangle-shaped artwork (no squares), with a height of no less than 2048 pixels
  • Full-page images should be 1536 pixels wide and 2048 pixels high.
  • Logos or simple images should be 75 – 100 pixels high

10. Symbols may not properly embed in the file, unless they are in a standard font.  We recommend you use the Times New Roman font for all text and symbols.

Our formatting experts are responsible for putting your manuscript in appropriate formats for conversion to ePub and Mobi/Kindle; however, the more professional the formatting, the quicker your book can be available for distribution.
